Camperdown Community Initiative Reuses Flood Zone
Land along Brushy Creek that had perpetual flooding problems has been bought out by Greenville County with FEMA funds with the intention of making it into a community park. The creek runs between Wellington Green and Kensington subdivisions on the east side of Greenville SC. Those are older subdivisions with mature trees that are are getting updated as buyers search for homes closer into the downtown Greenville area. The park will offer a nice amenity to the residents land include trails, frisbee golf, and a community garden supported by the nearby Camperdown Academy.
